Sheridan Smoke Investigation

January 28, 2008 ~ Sheridan Firefighters were called to 4003 South Clay Street for a reported burning odor. Quint & Medic 52 arrived on scene to find a single story commercial building with nothing showing. Upon investigation a strong burning odor was found inside and an area of heat could be seen on a Thermal Imager in the ceiling. Command requested another company brining Englewood Truck 22. The crew from 52 began opening up and Truck 22 went to the roof to look for heat. Once access was made into the ceiling light smoke was found with no fire conditions. The source was determined to be a light ballast and units cleared the scene. One firefighter was transported for a minor injury.
