Basement Off On Arrival In The 6th Battalion
March 7, 2008 ~ Units in the 6th, 7th & 32nd Battalions were alerted to the 5200 block of South Danube Street for a reported Structure Fire. While enroute Dispatch advised that there were two associated burn patients located in a vehicle at Orchard & Nobles, a second response was sent there for treatment. Units arrived at the dispatched location to find a bad address and nothing visible, the corrected location of 5800 South Danube Circle was aired and units began responding there. First due Ladder 35 found a two story single family home with moderate smoke showing from the basement. Engine 72 laid in a supply line and crews began to push inside, locating a well involved basement with very high heat conditions. Horizontal ventilation took place throughout the structure and the fire was quickly knocked, all searches proved negative.
