Franklin Street Brush Fire

July 13, 2008 ~ At 19:43 MetCom alerted units in the 32nd Battalion to a reported small vegetation fire burning along the Highline Canal at Franklin Street. First arriving Engine & Brush 38 found both sides of the creek bed involved, burning a 1/4 mile stretch to the west. After fire attack had been going for about 10 minutes, command ordered an additional Engine & Brush to the scene to assist with water supply and mop-up. Crews knocked the fire in a matter of minutes and remained on scene for well over an hour overhauling.
