Lightning Strike & Fire Showing In The Ranch
May 7, 2008 ~ At 06:06, after over two hours of lightning had pounded the area; Littleton Fire Communications alerted units to a reported structure behind an address on Deer Creek Court in Highlands Ranch. First arriving Engine 18 could see flames from the rear of a home in the 9800 block of Gold Finch Lane and diverted units there. Two lines were stretched and one was placed into operation by E18 & M16 on the second floor of the home. The crew from 12 was assigned to the charlie side to open up as the fire was quickly knocked. Some minor overhaul took place from the interior and exterior of the home, all searches proved negative and the fire was contained to the attic and siding.
