Griggs Road Wildland Fire

July 4, 2008 ~ At 1418 hours Littleton Firefighters were called to a reported brush fire on Griggs Road south of Poston Parkway. First arriving Engine 17 found several acres of light fuel involved spreading quickly uphill in the open space. Multiple Engines & Brush units from Littleton & South Metro responded to the fire which took over an hour to contain. Crews remained on scene for several hours monitoring the 15-20 acre burn and continued to return to check for hot spots. The cause was likely fireworks thrown from a vehicle.
