2 Alarms Go To Work In Englewood

March 22, 2008 ~ Around 1530 Units in the 2nd, 1st and 5th Battalions were alerted to 3935 South Lipan Street for a structure fire. First arriving Englewood units found a large commercial building strip with smoke and fire showing from an auto body shop, extending into vehicles. Two different supply lines were laid, several attack lines were advanced and an aerial was used to ventilate and for fire suppression. Although the fire was brought under control with in the first 15 minutes of the incident, several companies were held for a few hours to overhaul. One person who was welding in the building was transported to a local hospital after some type of explosion occurred which lead to the fire. That victims condition was not released and investigators were called to the scene.
