Denver Firefighters Tackle Another Brush Fire
March 24, 2008 ~ Around 1530 Denver Engine 25 was called to the 3400 block of South Lowell Boulevard for a reported weed fire. Numerous calls to dispatch prompted the addition of 28's a pair and Chief 7. Engine 25 arrived on the southwest side of Teikyo Loretto Heights to find a vegetation fire burning in brush and trees, moving slowly toward an apartment complex. The crew from 25 advanced an attack line and went to work assisted by Truck 28 with hand tools. Engine 28 laid out from inside the apartment complex and pulled a second line. Engine 23 was special called to assist with water supply at the Humat valve. The fire was held to about one quarter of an acre.
