Meridian Haz-Mat Investigation
March 7, 2008 ~ Around 10:30 MetCom alerted Parker and South Metro Firefighters to 9875 Meridian Blvd for multiple sick parties from an unknown cause. Company 74 arrived on scene to find an occupied 4 story office building with evacuation taking place and several patients complaining of illness. The crew from Haz-Mat 74 proceeded inside to investigate while Medics 74 & 34 began triage. More patients became apparent and a total of 4 Medic Units were requested to the scene. The cause was determined to be electrical in nature and there was no haz-mat situation or life safety hazard. Several patients were transported non-emergent for evaluation and the building occupants were allowed to return to the building within the hour.
