Polk Place Brush Fire
July 22, 2008 ~ At about 16:30 Littleton Engine 11 was called to the 6300 Block of West Polk for a reported brush fire. While enroute additional callers reported a fast moving fire impinging on a fence line behind several homes. Control announced the additional information and an extra Engine & Brush were requested to respond. Engine 11 arrived to find a 1/2 acre fire with a slow rate of spread burning in light fuels against the fence. The crew from 11 advanced a single attack line and quickly contained the fire with the assistance of several residents with garden hoses. No injuries or property damage were reported, the cause is under investigation.
