Fast Knock On Abandon Motel in Englewood

March 24, 2008 ~ Around 1845 Control 2 dispatched units to a possible Structure Fire in the 3300 block of South Santa Fe Drive. Once units were responding additional information was relayed from Englewood Police who advised they had flames showing. First arriving Engine 22 found a single story, abandoned motel strip with heavy smoke conditions on the end of the row. The crew from 22's advanced a line and got a quick knock on the fire while Engine 21 laid in and established a water supply. The fire was held to the unit of origin and all searches proved negative. Crews started taking up within the hour.
