April 23, 2008 ~ Around 1930 Englewood, Sheridan and Denver Firefighters were called to the 1700 block of West Wesley for a large fire at the recycling plant.  Crews arrived to find a several 40 foot high scrap metal piles with heavy smoke and flames showing.  Several supply lines and multiple master streams were placed into operation to cool the pile while heavy equipment was used to pull the material appart.  The plume from the fire could be seen from as far away as Bennett.
